Sports Presenter Wins $2 Million Live On AirLive TV certainly has its moments, and last week saw that quote proven in the best possible way. Anchorman Barry Deley was apparently presenting on Global BC television when he discovered that he was the winner of a $2 million lottery jackpot. The BC Children’s Hospital Dream Lottery is annually drawn live on the television station, and Barry Deley had always bought the lottery tickets in support of the Hospital from the time that his daughter of eleven years was treated for leukaemia there.
The station’s main anchors stunned the sports announcer by cutting live to him on the air to inform him that he was this year’s millionaire winner. The ecstatic Delay said: “You know people are going to think this is kind of fishy, don’t you?”
Whether fishy or not this is a great story, with the winner being well deserving of the prize on offer.
